12/4/19 – Our website has been down for awhile now. But as of today the site is back up and running.
We’ve had to change some of the dates of our already scheduled shows. And we’ve added a new show for August. At our continuing residency at The Wherehouse for July we will be having guitarist Monroe Quinn as our guest artist. Come out and support live music!
Just want to remind everyone that our Third Thursdays residency at The Wherehouse is still continuing. We are going to be having some special guests coming in to play with us in the next few months. On June 21 sax player Ken Gioffre (Smokey Robinson and Blood, Sweat & Tears) will be sitting in with the band. And on July 19 guitarist Monroe Quinn will be making his annual appearance with the group. Come out and support live music!!
The band’s residency continues at The Wherehouse in Newburgh, NY next Thursday, February 15th at 8:00pm. This month our special guest will be trombonist Joe Fiedler. There will actually be two trombones on the same gig, playing at the same time and it won’t be a big band or Latin band. This is a very rare event and one that will be worth checking out. https://www.facebook.com/events/161299537936680/ Come out and support live music!!
We just started our fourth year of our residency at The Wherehouse last night. The time has flown by but we keep moving ahead. Thanks to everyone for their support of the band and for keeping the residency going.
We’ve just booked a few new shows. Mark it down on your calendars. On Friday, July 21st we are going to be playing at the Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, NY. And on Sunday, August 20th we will be playing at the Bean Runner Cafe as part of the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival. Stay tuned for more information about these shows.
The band had a final rehearsal last night. The tunes are all set and it’s all systems go. We’ll be doing some original tunes and a standard or two with our own twists on it for this video shoot. We’re getting ready to do a video shoot on Sunday, January 17th. The videos will eventually be posted to this website, our Facebook page and our YouTube page.
So the new website is almost done. By the time you read this, it will be live. Nadav, who’s been with us since September now, is settling in nicely as our new drummer. We’re taking the month of January off from our 3rd Thursday Residency; instead we’re going into the studio in January to cut new audio with live video. That’ll be posted just as soon as we can. The next Wherehouse gig is Feb 18th. Meanwhile, Happy Holidays to everyone! See you in Feb, unless another gig shows up before then. Ciao’! Neil & Joe
The new site is up! “Thunderhead are go”, which of course is a take on “Thunderbirds are go” from a favorite kids TV show from many many (MANY) years ago. But using this phrase adds a fun comic-book like feel to the whole project which from a musical perspective is pretty f-ing serious. WELCOME!
